Active Ageing and Age-Friendly Cities in China – Sustainable Urban and Community Development Institute, Beijing, People’s Republic of China

Whereas the Sustainable Urban and Community Development Institute based in Beijing represents a positive response to the objectives and recommendations of the United Nations’ Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (2002) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, this Institute was designated as an INIA Satellite Centre for Active Ageing and Age-Friendly Cities in China. This Satellite Centre is committed to promoting sustainable development of cities and communities, and will organise international training programmes on Active
Ageing and Age-Friendly Cities for personnel working in the field of ageing, as well as an annual International Forum on ‘Age-Friendly and Liveable Cities’.
