The International Institute on Ageing United Nations-Malta (INIA) in collaboration with the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau organised an in-situ training programme in Social and Dementia Care in Later Life. This programme, was held in Beijing, China between 9-13 July and attended by 40 participants. The programme addressed active and successful ageing from an Asian perspective; facts and myths in understanding dementia; policy directions and management in dementia care; community services, communication and person-centred care in dementia care, Dementia care in hospitals and in nursing homes; key principles in social gerontology; active ageing index; active Ageing in nursing homes; healthy ageing policies; and older adults learning.
