InternationalTraining Programme in Economics and the Financial Aspect on Ageing
8 - 19th March, 2010

The Imperial Hotel, Sliema, Malta was the setting for the10th International Training Programme in Economics and the Financial Aspects of Ageing held between the 8th and 19th march, 2010 for eleven international participants. The programme, organised by the International Institute on Ageing, United Nations - Malta (INIA) in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) hosted eleven international students from Cyprus, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia, Uruguay and Uzbekistan.

Lectures were supplemented by site visits to St. Vincent De Paule Complex (SVPR), Villa Messina in Rabat and Mtarfa Community Home, and included inter-active workshops. International Tutors included Professor Joseph Troisi, Director of INIA, Professor Raja Gopal Dhar Chakraborti, Professor of Economics and Demography, Calcutta University and Dr. Sara Rix, Senior Strategic Policy Advisor, Economics Team, Public Policy Institute, American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).
