Collaborating
Network of International Organisations
INIANET
INIANET is an
initiative by INIA to facilitate the exchange of information and
thus to fulfil the Institute's role as a bridge between developed
and developing countries on issues in the field of Ageing.
A meeting of the Collaborating Network took
place in June 1989 during the XIV World Congress of Gerontology held
in Acapulco Mexico, when a strategy was devised for the Network to
be established as a dynamic information centre. Presently,
there are 59 INIANET members from more than 34 developed and
developing countries. They are regularly updated on ageing
issues and on major events and activities occurring at INIA and
within the various member organisations through the Institute's
quarterly journal BOLD. Access to information is
also provided to Network members through other 'ad hoc'
publications. With recent developments in electronic
communications, Network members who do not have their own facilities
are being offered the opportunity to include information on their
major events and activities in INIA's Web Page on the Internet
www.inia.org.mt.
